The LipiView II Interferometer features patented technology that provides a sophisticated assessment of factors that contribute to dry eye. Compelling visuals and video captures provide a unique opportunity For Dr. Massengale to educate his patients about their personal ocular health.
LIPIVIEW II FEATURES
Real-time visualization of the lipid layer to evaluate the dynamic response of lipids to blinking
Patented noise canceling technology to measure sub-micron thickness of the lipid layer
Video and analysis of blink dynamics
High-definition imaging with Dynamic Meibomian Imaging
The LipiFlow is a treatment device specifically designed for effectively removing blockages from the meibmomian glands, which is a leading cause of dry eyes. This allowing them to properly function and produce the oils that make up the top protective lipid layer of the tear film.
LipiFlow was designed to minimize patient discomfort during a 12 minute in-office treatment that most patients describe as a gently massaging of the eye lids.
The Zeiss Atlas is a computer assisted diagnostic tool that creates a three-dimensional map of the surface curvature of the cornea a procedure called corneal topography. The cornea (the front window of the eye) is responsible for about 70 percent of the eye’s focusing power. An eye with normal vision has an evenly rounded cornea, but if the cornea is too flat, too steep, or unevenly curved, less than perfect vision results. With this tool in hand Dr. Massengale is able to detect irregular conditions invisible to most conventional testing helping our patient’s with their overall eye health.
Benefits of The Ziess Atlas:
Early detection of corneal diseases, abrasions, and deformities.
Evaluation of Irregular astigmatism following corneal transplants and postoperative cataract extraction with acquired astigmatism.
The Topcon KR-8900 Auto-Refractor automatically determines your glasses prescription and corneal curvature measurements. This takes only a few seconds and provides Dr. Massengale with an objective measurement of your prescription. This is a good place for Dr. Massengale to start in the determination of the appropriate glasses prescription for your eyes.
